Program Description

The Glenholme School is a therapeutic boarding school for young people diagnosed with Asperger’s, ADHD, PDD, OCD,  Tourette’s,depression, anxiety, and various learning differences. The program provides a treatment milieu designed to build competence socially and academically. Our learning environment supports and enhances the success of special needs students.

Academics
Academic life at Glenholme is an inspirational atmosphere delivered by energetic and committed faculty members who hold special education certifications. Our program promotes an individualized approach to studies compatible to each young person’s talents and capabilities that involves their intellectual, personal and social growth.

The Arts
Glenholme students participate in a superb visual and performing arts program; these are key elements in each student’s daily life at school. Our integration of the arts in education and boarding programming stimulates a greater understanding of social, emotional, academic and behavioral areas. The Arts Program is designed to advance individual treatment plan goals.

Clinical and Behavioral Services
Glenholme provides individualized services that are effective and accountable, and based in positive approaches. The program utilizes principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavior Supports to help students accomplish their goals, and meet their needs in a socially acceptable manner, while building upon each student’s unique strengths, talents and interests. Vast amounts of research guide and support the treatment approaches at Glenholme.

The Post-Secondary Program
Young adults on the autism spectrum and those with special needs often find transitioning to higher education and adult life challenging. Glen Ridge provides supportive college and post secondary transition programming for young men and women who seek advanced education or career development. Individuals have the opportunity to learn, practice and master skills essential for success in college, work environments and social settings.

Summer Program
The Summer Program not only captures the essence of summer fun, but also provides a platform for students to learn and practice valuable social skill. Through competition, team development, and skills building activities, young people make new friends, gain confidence, and learn to respect their fellow campers and staff. By actively participating in a positive and productive environment, students experience a newfound sense of community and belonging.
